Who We Are
A family of faith in Mount Carmel.
Our Story
Rooted here. Growing together.
Oak Grove Baptist Church has been a home for worship, community, and service in Mount Carmel, Tennessee, for generations. What started as a small congregation committed to the gospel has grown into a church family that spans ages, backgrounds, and stages of life — united by a shared belief that faith is meant to be lived out together.
We're not interested in being a place you just visit on Sundays. We want to be a community you belong to — where your story matters, your questions are welcome, and you're known by name. Whether you grew up in church or you're walking through the doors for the first time, there's a place for you here.
Our Foundation
What We Believe
The Bible
We believe Scripture is God's inspired Word — true, trustworthy, and the foundation for how we live and worship.
Grace
We believe salvation is a free gift, received by faith in Jesus Christ, not earned by anything we do.
Community
We believe faith grows best in relationship — so we do life together, not alone.
Mission
We believe the church exists for others. We exist to love our neighbors, here in Mount Carmel and around the world.
Our Purposes
Why We're Here
- 1
To be a dynamic spiritual organism empowered by the Holy Spirit to share Christ with as many people as possible in our church, community, and throughout the world.
- 2
To be a worshiping fellowship, experiencing an awareness of God, recognizing His person, and responding in obedience to His leadership.
- 3
To experience an increasingly meaningful fellowship with God and fellow believers.
- 4
To help people experience a growing knowledge of God and men.
- 5
To be a church which ministers unselfishly to persons in the community and the world in Jesus’ name.
- 6
To be a church whose purpose is to be “Christ-like” in our daily living by emphasizing total commitment of life, personality, and possessions to the lordship of Christ.
Our Mission
To know Christ, and to make Him known — starting right here in our own backyard.
We believe the local church is God's plan for reaching the world, one neighbor, one family, one act of love at a time.
